About the Job

Responsible for the support and maintenance of all IT infrastructure of the company. As a Microsoft partner our IT systems are principally based on Microsoft technology, therefore a knowledge of Hyper-V, Windows Server (2003 & 2008), Microsoft SQL Server, as well as Microsoft Dynamics used to manage our operations (Great Plains, CRM, etc) are needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor all local and remote workstations, servers, and user accounts
  • Implement security best practices including network, Active Directory, group policies, anti-virus, anti-spyware, and Certificates
  • Maintain and monitor network infrastructure including Fortinet firewall policies, ISA servers, point to point, and dial up VPN tunnels
  • Monitor, maintain, and upgrade as necessary the following server platforms: MS SQL Server, MS Exchange Server, MS SharePoint Server, MS Office Communications Server, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Data Protection Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, and Blackberry Enterprise Server
  • Manage Hyper V environment
  • Provide infrastructure support for internal and client initiatives for release and deployment management
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery best practices for all servers and workstations
  • Review emerging technologies, provide roadmap for IT infrastructure, develop and follow detailed project plans for infrastructure initiatives
  • Manage Avaya VoIP system
  • Provide support to end users

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a creative, professional, who can work both independently and in a team environment. Experience working with software developers and executive management is a plus. A Software Development background is preferred.

Position requires 4-6 years, hands on experience as a Windows Administrator or Technical Support Representative for Windows based applications. The candidate should be familiar with all duties of a System Administrator and be comfortable managing multiple projects and day-to-day activities. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.

  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft’s Hyper-V and Windows 2003/2008 operating systems
  • Knowledge of configuring and operating web sites based on Microsoft IIS platform
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are required
  • The candidate should have a strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and host configurations
  • Knowledge of RAID, DHCP, DNS, FTP
